Chart LabSample data · not a real stock

What to look forRed candles (up) close above their open; blue candles (down) close below. The bars underneath are volume — notice how volume tends to rise on days with big price moves. (Korean charts use red for up and blue for down.)

CautionOne candle’s shape cannot tell you the next day. Look at several days and volume together.

Sample (synthetic) data: not a real stock or real prices, but prices generated to explain the idea. Drag the chart to move through time and use the wheel or two fingers to zoom.

How to practice

  1. Choose a chart: Pick a learning example (a chart with a clear pattern), a virtual stock or a random chart from the list above.
  2. Turn on indicators: Show as many as you like: moving averages, Bollinger Bands and volume “on price”, and RSI, stochastic and MACD in the “lower panes”.
  3. Draw lines: Choose “Draw trendline” and click two points for a trendline, or “Draw horizontal” and click once for a horizontal line. Go back to “View & move” to move the chart.
  4. Compare: Turn on the automatic trendline and support/resistance to compare with your own lines. Your lines are kept per chart (and cleared when you reload).
